This wasn't on our plans for the week... but life has a way of sometimes suddenly bringing you to your knees and reminding you what really matters. โค๏ธ Here is a small update for GoodLuck fans: The last few days have been a bit of a rollercoaster for us. On Sunday I noticed something strange about Benโ€™s eye - it was super puffy so we thought maybe allergies & gave him an antihistamine. Then, yesterday he noticed one pupil was much smaller than the other. Heโ€™d had a small headache the day before, but otherwise felt completely fine. Thankfully we decided to get it checked out. After a full day (in a very busy) emergency room & a few scans later and weโ€™ve discovered an abnormality in one of the main arteries supplying blood to his brain, with doctors suspecting a small tear in the artery wall. Heโ€™s now in hospital being monitored while they work out the best way forward. Thankfully thereโ€™s no sign of a stroke and heโ€™s feeling good, but wow... what an unexpected wake-up call. I think weโ€™ve been running at a million miles an hour for so long that weโ€™ve almost forgotten how to slow down. Between the music, the shows, the festivals and being parents, life has been FULL. Beautifully full, but full nonetheless. And suddenly, none of the deadlines or to-do lists seem quite so important.๐Ÿ™ Weโ€™re feeling incredibly grateful that we caught this early, and itโ€™s been a big reminder to slow down a little, be present and hold each other a little bit closer. We might need to take our foot off the gas for a moment while Ben recovers, but weโ€™ll keep you posted. Sending love to you all, and a little reminder to look after yourselves and each other. โค๏ธ Jules x

My latest reporting for NPR (link in bio): Two Cuban men were deported from the U.S. to the Central African Republic, a country they have no ties to. Yasmany Moreno-De Armas and Aristides Fernandez-Garcia are among the 25,000 people the Trump administration says it has deported to countries other than their own, a process called third-country deportations. Cuba, his country of origin, would not accept De Armas because he had previously fled that country. Fernandez-Garcia did not have a deportation order when he was detained. Trump promised to deport the โ€œworst of the worst.โ€ But NPR found no criminal charges against either man in Florida, where they previously lived. Both men say they have no idea what their legal status is or what will happen next. Please listen, read and watch the full story at NPR.org.
