Patriarchal bargaining= when a woman gains individual power by (aligning with a patriarchal structure and) undermining women’s collective power. Or the only people these women can dominate is other women with less power, so they will go to town on victimizing others before they ever question how they’re unable to exist authentically. Of course it’s vile and not the first instinct of the happy and self actualized, but it’s also layers upon layers of tragedy when they really think they’re helping younger women succeed in a reality that doesn’t have to be this way in the first place.
