A whole decade has passed since I saw your face and heard your voice for the last time mum, a part of me wanted to join you but an even greater part of me today realised that life can always get better despite losing that big part of who I was.
2016 was the hardest year of my life because of this, and since then I’ve learned to understand everyone’s reason for turning out how they have and why they do what they do based on the nature of their environment and upbringing. Despite my loss, a good part of me is thankful to end up where I am today with the people I’ve found and called my own as a result of losing you. Thank you so much for playing a major part in making me the way I am despite only being in it for just over half my current life. The rest is up to me and those I surround myself with to continue the kind and selfless nature you once had.
But you’re gone now and I’m fully aware that I’m never going to see you again, not even in any of the made up afterlives that we people create to comfort ourselves. Although despite how great my life has become since this event, I would still throw all of that away just to see you one last time…
