Happy 77th birthday, Anna Wintour! To celebrate, we revisit the BBC documentary Boss Woman (2000), which offers a rare behind-the-scenes look at Wintour as she oversees the production of American Vogue. Filmed during the creation of the magazine’s February issue, the documentary follows her from the Vogue offices in New York to the couture shows in Paris, capturing the demanding world of fashion publishing, her editorial decision-making and the people working alongside her, including then-Vogue writer Plum Sykes. Directed by Christine Hall for BBC1. #annawintour #fashiondocumentary #fashionmagazines #2000sfashion #vogueusa

A Gujarat session court has sentenced three Muslim convicts to life imprisonment in a 2024 cow slaughter case, citing Hindu scriptures including the Manusmriti, Rig Veda and Harivamsa Purana in its judgment. The Additional Sessions Court in Kalol, Gandhinagar district, convicted Wasim Qureshi, Mohammad Rafiq Qureshi and Ashfaq Behlime after police recovered 277 kg of meat from a house in Jamla village in August 2024. Laboratory tests subsequently confirmed that the meat was beef. Two other accused, Ghulam Moin Qureshi and Vitthal Senma, were acquitted due to insufficient evidence. The court also referred to a shloka from the Mahabharata’s Anushasan Parv, describing the cow as the mother of the world and beneficial to human life and society. #Gujarat #CowSlaughterCase #KalolCourt #Manusmriti #RigVeda #HarivamsaPurana #GujaratNews #CourtVerdict #TheBharatPost
