📋 This year's Scientific Symposium theme is "Living Heritage - Respect, Enhance, Accept, Partnership". Through this theme, the Symposium will contribute to ICOMOS' Triennial Scientific Plan 2024-2027 “Conflict and Disaster Resilient Heritage”, focusing on the "response" aspect.

I respectfully request that you report on today’s attack by American and Israeli forces that has reportedly affected the historic Chehel Sotun Palace in Isfahan, Iran. This 17th-century Safavid pavilion is part of the UNESCO-recognized Persian Garden World Heritage site and represents an important part of global cultural heritage. As an international lawyer and someone originally from Isfahan, I am deeply concerned about the protection of cultural heritage during armed conflict. Any damage to such sites is an irreparable loss to the shared heritage of humanity. I urge the international community to take notice and help protect the historic heritage of Isfahan. Thank you
