Honestly, it’s sad that we’re even having to discuss something like this. And this isn’t about one religion or one community. It goes for everyone. A little more respect, a little more understanding and a little less hate ❤️
ACP Manasvi Vashishta, who led the protest by police personnel outside the Delhi Police Headquarters on Monday, has been suspended for ‘violation of discipline’.  The suspension comes a day after around 100 police personnel, including women officers, protested outside Gate No. 1 of the Delhi Police Headquarters (PHQ) over the transfers of ACP Manasvi Vashistha and Inspector Arun Kumar. The police personnel demanded a meeting with Police Commissioner Anurag Kumar and the reinstatement of the two officials. An incident on October 23 at Shahdara police station is behind the protests. An advocate allegedly sustained a serious head injury during a scuffle at the station, prompting district court lawyers to launch an indefinite strike, demanding action against the police personnel involved. The strike was called off after the transfer orders were issued. The police personnel, however, opposed the transfers and sought action against the lawyers involved in the confrontation.
“MY 12-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER GETS DEATH THREATS.” In this harrowing account, Kamisha Menns describes the terrifying fallout of her prosecution in Lithuania. She and her daughter have endured death threats and racist abuse, while receiving no meaningful protection or help from the police, prosecutor or judge. The situation has become so frightening that KL has had to withdraw her daughter from school, and the two have been confined to their home for their safety. All this unfolds against the backdrop of a prosecution arising from an alleged incident of “insolence” towards a white woman and making her cry. A mother and child facing racial abuse, death threats and fear for their safety. Where is their protection? Where is their justice? How can a child be left to live in fear while the very institutions meant to protect her appear unable—or unwilling—to intervene? Today in Brussels, we discussed deepening security and defence cooperation between the UK and EU. In a new era of threat, working together helps strengthen Europe’s security and deter our adversaries.
