D1 or bust?
That mindset is about to disappear.
With the transfer portal dominating roster building, high school recruiting is shifting fast. More colleges are taking older, proven players from the portal instead of developing freshmen.
What does that mean?
D2 and D3 are becoming the new entry point.
High school athletes will need to:
• Get on the radar early
• Be open to D2/D3 opportunities
• Develop for 1–2 years
• Then move up if they’re ready
The days of “D1 or nothing” are fading.
If you’re not visible, you’re in trouble.
