I usually use anywhere from 3-5 fin setups per new board until I find the one that works best. A few things play into that.
1) it doesn't always feel great right away
2) after a few uses the board breaks in a little more and you can better tell how it feels regardless of the fin set up you're using
3) if it needs more Drive more than likely you're going to want to use a bigger fin setup, not always, but more than likely
That was the case with this setup. I put on the bigger fin set up and liked it a lot better but still not great. We're always working for great
Because I'm a bigger guy I like the bigger fin setups, buuuut in rare cases a smaller setup works better. In my case it's very rare, but it's happened . So the next setup will be even bigger.
