It is with the heaviest of hearts to share that in the early morning hours of November 1st, our son Christian Donald Shockley, passed away. Even writing these words feels impossible. None of this seems real, and our hearts are completely shattered. If you ever had the privilege of knowing Christian or even just be in a room with him you knew just how special he truly was. He was the light that could brighten any room, filling it with laughter, joy, and endless entertainment. He loved deeply, and never hesitated to drop everything to be there for someone he cared about. Christian had a heart and soul that were truly one of a kind. His love, his laughter, his larger-than-life personality, and the way he made people feel will forever be a part of those who were lucky enough to know him. There are simply no words to describe the pain of losing our boy or the emptiness his absence leaves behind. We will carry his love with us for the rest of our lives. As we navigate this unimaginable heartbreak, we will share details about a celebration of Christian’s life as soon as arrangements have been made. We love you beyond words, Christian. Forever our boy, forever in our hearts.
How I picked my surgeon for my 🍒 job. *currently 2 weeks post op* In trying to condense this story as much as possible I’ve obviously omitted some details but I should note that I spent an entire year researching local surgeons, looking at their work, reviewing their patients testimonials and asking around for personal experiences. Whilst my first consultation was quite confronting, disappointing and jarring, I’m grateful for the entire experience as it led me ultimately to a surgeon I felt extremely comfortable with and valued.
