The same thing that makes ibuprofen and other NSAIDs work on pain also lowers the protection on your stomach lining... On a recent Ask Me Anything episode, a listener asked me, “How bad is ibuprofen really?” I hear it all the time in my telehealth practice, usually from someone who wants to know if one or two for a headache or cramps is okay. Here’s what’s happening... Ibuprofen, naproxen, and aspirin are NSAIDs, and they work by blocking enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2) that make prostaglandins. Prostaglandins drive inflammation, swelling, and pain, which is why blocking them helps. But they also protect your stomach lining, reduce excess stomach acid, stimulate gut-protective mucus, and support your kidneys and blood flow to your liver. So when we block them, we’re not only turning down pain. We’re turning down the things that protect your gut. The more you take and the more often you take it, the more likely you are to run into issues. But I don’t want you to be afraid of it! If one ibuprofen a month is what gets you through a day of bad cramps, or a headache is keeping you from sleep, the benefit can outweigh the risk. Use the lowest dose that works, as infrequently as you can, and if you take it regularly, check in with your doctor. If you reach for it often, it’s worth trying natural options like curcumin, boswellia, white willow bark, and magnesium, and asking what’s behind the pain in the first place. Comment PAIN and I’ll send you the article, plus my other resources. ❤️❤️ Have you ever swapped ibuprofen for something else? Tell me below what’s worked for you! #artofbeingwell #selfhealers #guthealth #inflammation #naturalremedies

Our family is growing up so fast! 🥹💕 We recently had our family milestone photos taken, and I seriously can’t get over how beautiful they turned out! 🥹 It feels like every time we take family pictures, the girls have grown and changed so much, and I love that we get to capture all these different stages of our lives together! 🩷 Looking back at our older family photos and seeing how much our little family has changed over the years is so bittersweet! 😭💕 Of course, this photoshoot was extra special because we were also celebrating Sutton turning ONE! 🥹🩷 I still can’t believe our littlest baby is already a year old! She has grown so much over the past year, and we are so excited to watch her learn to walk, talk, and explore the world alongside her big sisters! 🥰 It’s going to be such a fun year watching her little personality grow even more! One of my favorite things about taking family photos is knowing that someday we will look back at them and remember exactly what this season of life felt like. 🥹💕 The girls are only this little once, and I’m so thankful we have these memories to hold onto forever! There were SO many amazing photos from this shoot that it was almost impossible to choose which ones to share! 😅🩷 We will definitely have to post more another time! We can’t thank @cljphoto.tx enough for capturing these beautiful moments for our family! 🥰 Her skills are unmatched, and we will treasure these photos forever! 💕

One of the most unexpected jumpscares in recent horror history. 😳💀 This scene from Resident Evil (2026) is a perfect example of how to catch an audience completely off guard. Just when you think you know where the danger is coming from, the movie hits you with something entirely unexpected. Director Zach Cregger knows exactly how to build tension, using silence, suspense, and misdirection to create a moment that genuinely makes you jump out of your seat. 👀 Did this jumpscare catch you off guard? 😭 Follow us @horrors for more 👻
