To everyone caring for someone living with Alzheimer’s, this post is for you.

A few days ago, my beautiful mother-in-law Margaret, aged 87, lost her husband of over 65 years. She was just 21 when they married. Now she’s facing life without the man she has spent almost her entire adult life with. And she is living with Alzheimer’s.

Spending time with her has been incredibly precious.
She may not remember what we did yesterday, but the Margaret I know and love is still there.

The cheeky, funny, kind, caring woman who has been such an incredible mother-in-law to me.

With patience, reassurance, affection and making her feel safe and loved, I still see her beautiful personality shine through. Those moments mean everything.

Margaret has never been one for girly pampering, but recently she’s started letting me give her facials, massage oils into her skin and simply look after her.

And she absolutely loves it. Seeing her relax, smile and enjoy that attention brings me so much happiness.

It’s taught me something important.

Just because someone living with Alzheimer’s struggles to care for themselves doesn’t mean they’ve stopped wanting to feel beautiful, comforted, confident and cared for.

Dignity doesn’t disappear with memory loss. Neither does the need for tenderness, affection or human connection.

Margaret has given me so much love and kindness over the years. Now it’s my turn to step up and be there for her.

But I won’t glamourise caring for someone with Alzheimer’s.

It’s hard. Relentless. Frustrating. Emotionally and physically exhausting. There are moments when your patience is tested and you feel completely overwhelmed.

Being of service to someone you love isn’t always easy. But it can be deeply rewarding.

I’m learning that love isn’t always about grand gestures. Sometimes it’s simply showing up, again and again, even on the difficult days.
There are so many of us navigating this journey, with its heartbreaks, challenges and precious little moments of joy.

Even when someone may not remember what you did for them , the comfort, dignity and love they felt in that moment matters.
Memories may fade, but our responsi

Хасавюрту — 95 лет! 🤍

Berry is learning to trust someone new 😊 Berry is a 5 yo blue crowned conure who was surrendered because his family was struggling with his aggressive behavior. They were unable to handle him or even get him to come out of his cage.

🥰 If you would like to help support Berry and the other rescues in my flock, you can do so by joining our Patreon. All subscription fees go towards the costs of caring for the birds I help and toward future rescues. Patrons get access to every step of Berry’s and all our rescue birds journeys, as well tons of videos of the flock I don’t share anywhere else. You can find the link to join on my page.

I’ll be waiting 🤓. Either you know something no anyone else does, or you’re both chronically dishonest.

A heartwarming moment on the streets of Pune is winning hearts online. A woman biker spotted another woman riding her own Royal Enfield Bullet on her way to work. She is a service professional who travels to clients for bookings on her bike, turning her daily work commute into a moment of inspiration.

The woman riding alongside her, Abida Rana, captured and shared the moment, bringing attention to her fellow biker’s inspiring journey. Two women, two Bullets and one simple moment that reminds us how empowering it is to see women following their own paths.
