Here’s the scoop 👇
If private school is already the plan, then staying in the inner loop or close-in to Houston might make sense.
This is what I hear from Houston families…
“I can’t do the suburbs”
“I’m not ready to go that far out”
“I grew up in the burbs and I don’t want to go back”
“I’d trade the cost of private school for high taxes in the burbs”
Families choose close-in neighborhoods with character instead, shorter commutes, mature trees, homes with character and access to all the city has to offer.
These are the neighborhoods where I see families quietly plant roots… usually with a private school sign in the front yard.
✅ Briargrove Park
✅ Timbergrove
✅ Spring Shadows
✅ Oak Forest
✅ The Heights
✅ Braeswood
✅ Briarmeadow
Each one offers something different, but they all share the same appeal: established streets, real homes with personality, and proximity to the city without giving up family life.
This isn’t about “right vs wrong.”
It’s about choosing the lifestyle that actually fits your family and your kids education.
If you’re debating suburbs vs close-in Houston, or public vs private, I’m happy to walk through how these areas compare for schools, commute, and everyday living.
Comment “NEIGHBOR” and I’ll send you my guide of Houstons most popular areas packed full of info such as commute times, home values, school ratings and more.
