The Monday after the Super Bowl is one of the most predictable PTO spikes of the year. 🏈
➡️ 27,000+ U.S. employees already have PTO scheduled for Super Bowl Monday 2026.
➡️ PTO usage is typically ~26% higher than a normal February Monday.
➡️ And since 2021, it’s been the biggest February PTO day, every year.
Only ~1% have booked their PTO so far, but history says that number will more than double, often with a late decision.

This is a great example of predictable behaviour masquerading as a “surprise.” The real differentiator is whether teams plan for it or scramble after.
