Sometimes you just have to allow yourself to fall in-love with an ideal. I visited what remains of New York’s 1964 World Fair a decade ago and instantly knew it was one of my favourite places on earth. There’s nothing really left of the space-age Googie architecture, but if you look close enough around Flushing Meadows - Corona Park you can see old plaques half-faded and forgotten about detailing what used to be one of the most marvellous places on earth, showcasing a Future that never came to be.
