When I was younger my siblings showed goats and hogs. I was too young to ever want to show or help out with it. Three years ago dad asked if I wanted to show hogs I said “sure why not.” So summer of 2024 we got our first hog and went on from there. People aren’t lying when they say it is a LOT of late nights and early mornings, blood, sweat and tears. You learn so much about responsibility, having to turn down hanging out with friends because you have to clean pens, wash, feed, walk or anything in between. There’s disappointing moments, but the minute that judge pens you, none of that matters anymore. You also meet so many people and make so many new relationships! I tell dad all the time I wish I would’ve started showing sooner, but I am so grateful I got these two amazing years of friendships and memories!! Thank you to everyone who helped and stood ringside!
