This morning, some Christians are celebrating. Some Christians are worried. And I think we need to hear this. Someone can love Jesus, take His Word seriously, and have voted differently than you. And somebody on the other side of that vote can love Jesus and take His Word just as seriously as you do. If you’re excited today, be glad. And when somebody tells you why they’re worried, listen. You can hear them out without having to agree with them. If you’re worried today, bring that honestly to Jesus. And if somebody you love is relieved, give them the same chance to tell you why. We’re in this world, but we’re not of it. And I think the enemy would love for us to spend the whole day celebrating a win or arguing about a loss while we miss the very thing Jesus asked us to do today. Will the results affect our lives? Yes. Are they too big for God? No. Does He still have a plan? Yes. And He can work through this moment for His purposes, even when we can’t see how. He told us what to do. Love God. Love your neighbor. Pray for the people in office. Democrats, Republicans, all of them. So if you woke up celebrating, remember where your hope is. If you woke up worried, remember where your hope is. And before you decide what somebody else’s vote tells you about their heart, open your Bible and let Jesus deal with your own.
