📍 Distance from Geneva:
Around 75 km from Geneva (about 1h–1h15 by car depending on traffic), making it one of the easiest true alpine day trips from the city. No mega-resort chaos. No 3-hour transfers. Just straight into the mountains.

Skiing here dates back to the early 1900s, making Les Contamines one of the first established ski resorts in France. Long before high-speed lifts and mega-domains, locals and early alpine pioneers were already exploring these slopes beneath the Mont Blanc massif.

Les Contamines offers around 120 km of pistes ranging from wide, confidence-building blues to long red cruisers and a few technical black runs. The skiing stretches between forest-lined lower slopes and high open bowls, giving you both protection on snowy days and spectacular panoramic views in clear weather. And the unique part? You’re not skiing with Mont Blanc behind you — you’re skiing next to it.
