Mother sentenced to 7 consecutive life terms after her 11-year-old daughter gives birth at home to her husband’s baby

A woman in Oklahoma, United States, has been sentenced to seven consecutive life sentences after failing to protect her 11-year-old daughter from sexual abuse and then allowing the child to give birth at home without medical assistance after she became pregnant with the her husband’s child.

Cherie Walker was sentenced to seven consecutive life sentences by a Muskogee County judge on Friday, October 30, 2026, per Oklahoma City Fox affiliate, KOKL and public Muskogee County court records reviewed by PEOPLE.

Walker, 34, was charged with one count of child sexual abuse and six counts of child neglect in August 2025 after authorities learned that her 11-year-old daughter had given birth to a baby inside the family’s home without prenatal care or medical assistance on August 16, 2025, according to reports from local outlets.

In a statement to KOTV at the time, Muskogee County Assistant District Attorney Janet Hutson said that both Walker and her husband, Dustin Walker, claimed that they did not know the child was pregnant when she gave birth.

“This child is traumatized,” Hutson said. “She’s been through a horrific ordeal. I mean, not only has somebody gotten her pregnant, but she gave birth at home without medical assistance, and this will be her life for the rest of her life.”

In another statement to KJRH, the district attorney’s office said that DNA testing confirmed that Walker’s husband — the child’s stepfather — was the baby’s father.

Prosecutors later argued that Walker knew her husband was sexually abusing her daughter but did nothing to stop it. She was convicted on all seven felony counts on July 17, 2026.

The child’s stepfather pleaded guilty to felony child sexual abuse and neglect charges in March.

He was later sentenced to life in prison.

Byl to můj plán už roky. 🎁Jsem takový narozeninový typ. Nesmírně to prožívám. Ať u sebe a nebo i u lidí kolem.

Když měl Jakub osmnáctiny, oslavili jsme to v Praze. Chystal se zrovna na přijímačky na školu do 🇺🇸
a tehdy jsem mu řekl. Když všechno vyjde, tak tě na tvoje 21.narozeniny, jako dárek🎁, vezmu do Las Vegas. Do “mého” Vegas.

1. Jsme připraveni
2. Je 16.00. Právě teď je v Česku půlnoc (Jakubovi je v 🇨🇿 už 21)
3. 33 minut po 19. hodině v USA. V Česku🇨🇿je 3.33 ráno. To se zrovna Jakub narodil. Takže TEĎ je mu 21.😂 Jsem blázen na čísla no. Samé TROJKY
4. Stuha která říká vše, černou neměli.
5. Je takový obchod pouze na Halloween. Jakub říká v půl deváté. Kostým jsme podcenili, nemáme nic a přidává informaci. Spirit zavírá za půl hodiny. Takže na taxíka a rychle
6. V tomhle obchodě je VŠE Halloween. Za 3 minuty zavírají. Nejen dnes, ale na dalších 9 měsíců 😳😂😂
7. Je 21.15 hod. Vzhledem k tomu, že jsme na západním pobřeží, možná jsme poslední zákaznici na americkém kontinentu
8. Večeře ještě bez kostýmů. Chudák. Zase Happy Birthday. Dnes podruhé a ne naposledy.
9. Mám to rád no
10. A jdeme na to. Narozeninová a zároveň Halloweenská noc začíná
11. MULLET je věčný
12. Bude to Gremlin?
13. Nebo…. Pasák a pirát
14. A TEĎ PŮLNOC oficiálně i v USA🇺🇸. 21. Plnoletý už všude na světě.
15. Jeho první legální mejdan začal.
16. Je prostě už Velký
17.. Všechno nejlepší @kubamaress ♥️
