I always start to think about Christmas now, mainly because Lyla’s birthday is out of the way (there’s nobody who isn’t involved in Lyla’s birthday). We get a brief moment of respite, and then I immediately start thinking about when I’ll put up the tree and what gifts I’m going to get for everyone. I’ve actually already bought some things for my sister from Australia, and yesterday I bought some things I thought would be nice for Molly and Louise at work. This is the time of year when the lists begin... When it comes to Christmas shopping for close friends and family, if I see something that makes me think “That is so nice, I really love it”, I figure out who else I know that would really like it and that’s how I buy for people. I choose things I’d love for myself and rely on mutual taste... It’s an easy win… And I really do love giving, probably more than receiving… Are you the same?
