Recently attended a demo by Julie Davis (@juliedavisstudio). One of the many gems she shared, is taping 12/16” panels and painting studies that are basically 6/8”. Very informative and liberating since these will only be for my use in future paintings. Thanks, Julie. #pleinair #texashillcountry #study

These look really great, Roy! I love doing taped studies like this, too. Somehow the tape automatically makes them less "precious" to me and loosens me up. Coincidentally, I just attended a talk by Julie Davis yesterday and saw some of her paintings and studies. So good!

Nice! You do a great job with cactus. That’s something I find I wrestle with.
