Iโ€™ve watched a lot of supplements rise and fall, and creatine is the one women keep talking themselves out of... It started as the bodybuilderโ€™s supplement, so plenty of women never gave it a look. Then the weight gain rumor made it easy to cross off the list. Hereโ€™s how Iโ€™d start: Monohydrate is the most researched form. Take 3 to 5 grams a day, with or without food, any time of day. Mix the powder into water or a smoothie. Some people load with 20 grams a day for a week, but if youโ€™re worried about water retention, skip the loading phase. Iโ€™ll be honest about the research... Most of it was done on men, and I want more studies on women. What we do have is strong enough that Iโ€™d rather you decide with the facts. Check with your doctor first if you have kidney problems or bipolar disorder. If youโ€™re pregnant or breastfeeding, the data is too thin to say itโ€™s safe. Comment CREATINE and Iโ€™ll send you my article with the dose, the form, and the full list of who should skip it. #artofbeingwell #selfhealers #creatine #womenshealth #supplements

These are actual conversations from my journey from Kanyakumari to Dibrugarh. And the way some men say these things so casually makes you realise just how deeply this mindset is normalised. And this is exactly why feminism is necessary. Because no woman should have to fight for the basic right to make decisions about her own life.
