Hand-drawn animated characters (Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, Pluto & Co) drawn on paper by Walt Disney Animation Studios for a commercial I directed for Mickey’s Toontown in the spirit of Roger Rabbit. We digitized the paper drawings and composited them over our live-action footage.

Imagine a world where the AI bubble finally bursts, the tech industry gets a reality check, and the prices of everything start coming back down. From affordable housing to ridiculously cheap high-end GPUs, the internet's favourite 2029 fantasy paints a picture of life after the AI gold rush. After years of rising hardware costs and companies pouring billions into AI infrastructure, this is the kind of alternate timeline some people are rooting for.

Of course, this is a humorous, hypothetical take rather than an actual prediction of what 2029 will look like. But it reflects a growing frustration around the AI boom, including expensive hardware, massive infrastructure spending, rising energy demand and concerns about companies exercising too much market power. If the bubble ever does burst, the big question is whether ordinary consumers will actually benefit from the fallout.

Sit tight Forrest - I’m coming for you ❤️
