@kathartink Heyyy, once again, long time no post. I’ve been dreading this but I ought to just type from the heart, so...
Last post I shared was about my mom’s passing, truly the biggest loss and worst thing I’ve experienced. What I haven’t told many people is that my dad passed away about 6 months after. I was not close to him like I was my mom, and I harbor a lot of resentment because of how he treated her even up until the very end. I don’t owe anyone anything as far as that goes, if I’ve confided any details to you then I trust/admire/respect you a lot. I’ll try to keep the rest concise.
A huge part of me died after that whole ordeal, I feel I’ve regressed a good 15 years and I’m ashamed. I still tattoo, I swear, but it’s few and far between. I miss y’all, and yearn for when I was bright eyed and excited about this industry, I’m just scared of it now. Just scared in general, always have been, I don’t know how to stop. Communication has been nearly void, except to those who are closer to me and have my number. I’m really sorry about that.
I’m starting a new tattoo account/persona, as I don’t relate to this one anymore. If you can forgive me for my transgressions, avoidance and melancholy, please follow me at @kathartink I’m going to try and be a much better person, communicator and artist under that name.
I am open to tattoo requests, and my schedule is wide open. For now, I’m open to most ideas/styles, but that may change. Tentatively my hourly rate will be $120/hr as I build my speed back up. Former clients/regulars get priority but I’m open to new clients as well. I just don’t want to start any more large projects right now. Thanks for understanding.
I have my own little tattoo office near the Christiana Mall that is very much a work in progress, but I will also still be at Skull and Rose some time longer, certain tattoos/clients I may elect to work on there, and it’s an option if you’d prefer. We’ve had a good 8 year long run there and I’m grateful, I wish I could go back to the person I was 3-4 years ago, I was onto something then, then I lost it.
If you read this I appreciate you, thank you. Again, miss y’all.
