Shortcut πŸ“½ by @igorniaga The magnetic allure of the female is undeniable. The male was separated from her for only a fleeting moment, but found her absence profoundly unsettling. It was as if her presence had become an essential part of his very being. Compelled by an overwhelming desire to reunite, he took to the road less traveled, driven by an instinctive need to return to her side. The power of their bond is so great that even the briefest separation seemed an eternity, and risking the end of his own life was worth it to unite them once again. Even though this looked really bad, both the buck and his one and only trotted away right as rain. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Nature Is Metal is powered by you! Long before the building became a public library, it was home to one of Chicago’s most unusual and talked about drinking spots. Known as the Midget Club, the tavern attracted plenty of attention and became a popular destination for people looking for something different from the city’s traditional nightlife. Now, rare footage offers a fascinating glimpse inside the bar and the atmosphere that once made it so memorable. The footage comes from I Married a Munchkin, a film by Chicago filmmaker Tom Palazzolo. His work documented everyday life and some of the more unusual corners of the city, preserving scenes that might otherwise have disappeared from public memory. This particular footage gives viewers a chance to see the Midget Club as it actually looked while it was still operating. The tavern eventually closed after the city acquired the property and the building was cleared to make way for a public library. The decision became controversial among people who believed the establishment had a place in the neighbourhood and questioned whether another location could have been used for the library instead. Today, the footage serves as a reminder of how quickly familiar places can disappear as cities change and redevelop. Whether the library was worth the loss of the tavern is still an interesting question, especially for those who remember the Midget Club. Would you have saved the bar or supported the library?
Qua Contemporary Chinese Cuisine | Fountain Valley πŸ“ Checked out another restaurant from @kei.concepts The moment I looked at the @quadining menu I already knew I had to come back again to try more stuff. These are what I got on my first visit. - Chili Crunch Burrata: roasted chili jam, hot honey chili crunch, crispy onion, pickled shallot, with Chinese donuts to dip with. So good - BBQ Pork Puff Pastry. I could have eaten two orders myself. I would go back just for this - Dan Dan Sesame Noodle: ground pork, house chili crunch, cucumber, scallion - Crispy Shrimp Red Rice Roll - Pineapple Butter Cake: fresh pineapple, butter toffee, shortcake crumble, vanilla ice cream
