@downhillsoutheast recap, first time racing TTC and this track was super fun. I felt mega fast Friday and Saturday but when the rain moved in Saturday night I knew my speed was going drop a bit as I just don’t get much time on the DH bike, let alone in the wet so the confidence took a hit.
Based on last year’s finishes I only needed 2 points to get to Cat 1, so that was the goal all along for the weekend. Even with the confidence hit I was able to take 3rd place out of 13 with only one major event that about took me off course. Stoked to be able to cat up after 4 races and a 100% podium record. My goal was always to get to cat 1 on merit. Now that I made it, the real work starts. I’m under no illusion that the podium record will resume, but I’ll sure as hell try.
My first cat 1 race is next weekend at the @tennesseenationalmtb which coincidentally was my first ever DH race last year. 🤙🏻🤘🏻 #downhillmtb #dhracing #mtb #redbull #downhill
