People believed this finger was the only one with a direct line to the heart, but that’s not actually true…
The idea of the “vena amoris” (aka the vein of love) dates back to ancient times, when people thought a vein ran straight from the ring finger to the heart 💍
Romantic? Yes. Anatomically accurate? Not quite. It is in fact all fingers that have veins that connect to the heart.
But even if the science isn’t real, the symbolism stuck, and that’s what makes it meaningful today.
