It’s always the “I will never…”’s that humble you the most 😂 I’ve come to learn that just about every time I’ve said “never again”, God decides to use that as a way to grow me.
6 years ago I attempted painting on a few thrifted vinyls and quickly realized that I was waaaay out of my skillset. I think I sold one to a sweet friend for $15 and ended up giving away the other. Vinyl is a tricky surface - it’s shiny and acrylics seem to dry even faster than normal. If you’re not careful, the paint will scratch off & if you don’t let the layer before it dry completely, you’ll lift off the paint. Plus, it’s a tad bumpy compared to a normal canvas. Artists like
@justabrownbird make it look easy, but don’t be fooled! She & others that paint on vinyl are mad talented!
But when a collector asked for a last minute memorial gift, I knew that it was time to take the things I’ve learned over the years for a chance at redemption. How do you think it went?
Let this be your reminder that if you’ve “failed” in the past at something, it’s never too late to try again!
