They told me to dress for the job I want… so I dressed like a CEO who just fired the entire HR department for asking too many questions.

Be honest: Do I look like I’m about to offer you a promotion or fire you on the spot?

Every autumn and winter, I hear people talking about reducing or stopping their retinoids because their skin becomes dry, tight or sensitive! 🍂

But I’m a big believer in preventing this before it happens! I don’t want you waiting until your skin gets to that stage!

And when I tell you this trio is incredible!

💜 Step 1: Skin Rocks Retinoid 3

I am using Retinoid 3. If you’re new to retinoids, start with Retinoid 1 and introduce it gradually.

💜 Step 2: The Support Oil

I apply this over my retinoid to help replenish lipids, support my skin barrier and reduce moisture loss.

💙 Step 3: The Support Mask

My final step! A lovely, rich, creamy and comforting layer that helps my skin retain moisture overnight whilst strengthening my skin barrier.

My skin when I wake up feels so plump, hydrated and moisturised, without any of that uncomfortable dryness or tightness!

If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ll know how much I bang on about looking after your skin barrier!

After 30+ years working with skin as a qualified facialist, there’s one thing I talk about almost as much as SPF, and that’s your skin barrier!

Because barrier care shouldn’t be something you only think about when your skin becomes dry, sore or sensitive. It should be part of your everyday routine, especially during autumn and winter!

❤️ I support my barrier on retinoid nights! Replenishing lipids, maintaining hydration and reducing moisture loss.

❤️ I have dedicated rest nights! No retinoids or exfoliating acids. Just hydration and barrier-supporting skincare.

❤️ I listen to my skin! If dryness or sensitivity appears, I adjust my routine rather than pushing through.

You don’t have to sacrifice your skin barrier to enjoy the benefits of retinol or retinal.

Do you reduce your retinoids during winter, or continue using them as normal?

Please share so we can reach the Ben Gurion Secueity team and work to make sure this doesn’t happen to any other disabled travelers (or any travelers who make accidentalll mistakes while in the confusion and chaos of travel)

Sometimes being disabled is just painful

The full story
There are MANY more details to this story, because it happened over many many minutes of being repeatedly berated in front of people, while my disability benefit was COMPELTLY ignored ( the point is not to have to wait and I waited while two full lines of people entered and exited)

I repeatedly apologized and asked for someone else, because I felt if she had a witness she would stop the cycle of attacking me, me apologizing, and nothing moving

I asked to just go back and start over the line and she said “dont move!!!” So I just waited there

Towards the end when no one came and she refused to let me actually move on, I took a video of myself crying (NOT of her I would not take a video of someone else without their consent)

She flopped out and made@me show her the video (of myself) she said “you filmed men!!” I said no I didn’t

She freaked out at that , which k kind of understand because I had her on video screaming at me while I cried, and it sucks to be held accountable but I had tried EVERY desecalating and pacifying choice, and I wanted SOME documentation so I could get them more training for folks with disability

I finally just begged “please I just want to go through, I’ve apologized so many times” and she said she could not because I was crying

I ommoedatly steeled myself and just shut it down and did what I had to do. I answered her questions. I nodded one time so I wouldn’t cry and she said “ANSWER ME!!”

It was truly a humiliation ritual and one I wish on no one

My goal is to: make the millions of Israelis who are disabled like me, even those with I visible disabilities like PTSD, feel seen, because I KNOW this is not her first time doing this

My goal is also to reach the Ben Gurion airport security so there is some additional training provided.

Thanks so much for your care with my extremely sensitive heart
