Holding in a fart might seem harmless (or socially necessary 😅), but your body actually has a reason for releasing gas.
🤯
What happens if you hold it in?
Gas buildup: Your digestive system produces gas from swallowed air and food breakdown. Holding it in increases pressure in your intestines.
Discomfort & bloating: That pressure can lead to stomach pain, bloating, and even cramps.
Gas reabsorption: Some gas can get reabsorbed into your bloodstream and later released through breathing—but not all of it.
Digestive stress: Regularly holding it in can mess with your natural digestive rhythm.
Letting it out (when appropriate!) is actually the body’s natural and healthy way to relieve pressure.
