Ceramics is humbling.
Behind all the curated Instagram posts, poop happens. Even with decades of experience working in clay, we still make mistakes. This time, we effed up the preheat and started the kiln’s bisque fire schedule too soon. The pots were damp (we have a show this weekend!) so they exploded due to the moisture turning to steam.
We didn’t lose everything, and we still have a TON of pots for the show, but that’s time lost not hanging out with our 3 year old.
This week has been a rollercoaster. Is it Spring yet?
