I think Shorter names sound better when it’s said serious, but I love Santiago as this character’s description. Maybe it could be shorted to Tiago or Iago depending on who is talking to him.

I loved Mateo but then I thought about an enemy or bully trying to call him Matty which made me think of Mat from Twilight. But I do love Santiago.
