Finally saw Brancusi in real life, and honestly, I wasn’t prepared for how much it would get to me. There’s something about standing next to The Kiss or Sleeping Muse and realising how much feeling lives inside such restrained, almost silent forms. The surfaces, the softness, the way light moves across polished bronze, it’s so close to everything I’m drawn to aesthetically, I felt like I already knew this work somewhere deep. And the space itself, Mies van der Rohe’s Neue Nationalgalerie, couldn’t be a more perfect match. Two masters of reduction, of finding the essential, of making less feel infinite. The exhibition is a collaboration with
@centrepompidou in Paris, and it shows, in the scale, the depth, the care. 150+ pieces, his studio reconstructed, archival material and it runs until August, so you still have time. If you haven’t gone yet, go. It’s one of those rare shows that stays with you 🤍
