Back half of the day was a proper gravel road that meandered for 20 or so miles back to Independence. Lizards, jackrabbits and grasshoppers leapt out of our way as we rambled through. Caught the zoomies a few times and stopped to admire the wildflowers and wave at the cattle. Saw an abandoned mine but decided it was better to keep it abandoned for now and save the visit for next time. Passed the remnants of an old train station, only a single length of track and a monument covered in broken glass bottles left. Was founded in 1866, and was once called Citrus.
