GXRLS MAKE GLASGOW: From Fragments to Festival out now!!!

A short documentary by emerging filmmaker Ella Field, capturing SPLINTR Festival 2025 (by Flos Collective CIC) as it unfolded - a weekend shaped by artists, audiences and organisers coming together across Glasgow. Through candid interviews with artists and attendees, the film traces the emotional and practical realities of building an artist-led festival from the ground up.
It reflects on the importance of visibility and access for women, trans and gender-diverse artists, while foregrounding the sense of care, trust and empowerment that emerged across the weekend.

The film offers a picture of SPLINTR not just as a programme of events, but as a temporary community - one built through shared experience, mutual support and the belief that artistic value exists as much in process and connection as it does in finished work.

Originating from Flos Collective’s wider mission, SPLINTR Festival proudly supports women, trans and gender-diverse artists, and is committed to ensuring financially accessible creative experiences and visibility for marginalised voices. With each event there’s a focus on supporting artists through fair pay, inclusive programming and creating a non-judgemental space that empowers traditionally underrepresented voices in Glasgow’s arts scene.
