I fiesta’d like there was no mañana :)

PLEASE READ:
Terlingua Texas is a beautiful desert town in West Texas, within the Big Bend region. It is the world’s largest international dark sky, allowing you to see the stars and Milky Way with your bare eyes.

Currently in Terlingua and The Big Bend National Park, our current administration is pushing to build its gaudy steel border wall. They are waiving several federal environmental protections to do so. The building of this wall will:

- Cede 2-3 miles of land, including the hot springs shown in this post, the sections of the Rio Grande touching Texas and a large portion of the Big Bend National Park, to Mexico
- (The loss of this land will have a detrimental effect on the tourist population, an economic necessity the area depends on)
- Leave river tour guides (and other human beings who’s income depends on the river) without employment
- Cut off and sequester wildlife from water sources
- Disrupt the federally protected land and its ecosystems
- Pollute the beautiful night sky with artificial light and pollute the Rio Grande with trash/debris from construction

Locals and tourists alike have banded together in advocating for this administration to cease its efforts in putting up the wall in this territory. Progress has been made, but all is not set in stone.

If you have a minute, please head to my bio and sign the petition to stop the wall in Big Bend Region.

No Al Muro.
Or you are el burro.
