America is Back 🇺🇸

because suddenly we’re adults & expected to make a turkey this thanksgiving 🤪 so naturally, I called my mom for backup! we’re doing a little practice run with a @sandersonfarmschicken
and putting our own greek spin on it! #ad

because the secret to a stress-free thanksgiving turkey might just be making one before the big day — pick up a Sanderson Farms whole chicken (aka your practice turkey!) at your local retailer near you! Sharing how we made our chicken below!

Ingredients:
Sanderson Farms Whole Chicken
1 cup butter, softened
1 large bunch fresh thyme
1 large bunch fresh rosemary
Kosher salt, to taste
Pepper, to taste
2 tbsp Greek seasoning
4 lemons
1 orange
1 head of garlic
1 sweet onion, cut in wedges
3 Yukon gold potatoes, cut in wedges
6-8 carrots
1/2 cup olive oil
3/4 cup chicken broth

Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Remove the giblets of the chicken. Rinse the chicken and pat dry. Set the chicken aside.
2. In a roasting pan, add the whole carrots, potatoes, and onions. Cover and toss in olive oil, juice of 2 lemons, chicken stock, 1 tbsp Greek seasoning, salt, and pepper.
3. Prep the herb butter. Add softened butter to a large bowl with 1 tbsp minced thyme, 1 tbsp minced rosemary, 4 minced garlic cloves, zest of 1 lemon, salt and pepper. Using your hands, toss together to combine.
4. Prep the chicken. Season the chicken with salt, pepper, and greek seasoning on the inside and outside of the chicken. Stuff the cavity with a handful of thyme and rosemary, 4 minced garlic cloves, 4 lemon wedges, and 4 orange wedges.
5. Spread butter on the outside and under the skin of the chicken and season again with salt, pepper, and greek seasoning.
6. Place the chicken on top of the potato, carrot, mixture. Note: we prefer to cook breast side down to keep the breast moist.
7. Place the roasting pan in the oven and bake for 1.5 hours.
8. Once the chicken is cooked and golden brown, remove from the oven and let the chicken rest for 10 or so minutes before carving.
9. Serve warm and enjoy!

food for thought? care to mentally nibble on this?

Happy 3rd Birthday to my little prince, Aarav! ❤️🎂

New movie brought me back to LA, meet Diana 🎥🎬🎭

New month = new theme! We’re focusing on a nocturnal theme over on my @patreon in November; think night scenes, moon glow, foxes, owls, dark forests and city lights - I cannot wait! I love painting the inky blue skies and the contrast of warm light, and I found a heap of spreads to share in our intro video tomorrow (as well as a lot of beautiful artwork from books and other artists to share!) Here is just a little selection from my own pages but I can’t wait to dive in 🌙
