India’s biggest steel plant from ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) is developing a major greenfield integrated steel plant in Rajayyapeta, Anakapalli district, Andhra Pradesh. The foundation stone was laid on March 23, 2026, with an estimated phase-one investment of ₹70,000 crore to produce 8.2 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) by 2029.
Investment: Approximately ₹1.35 lakh crore to ₹1.5 lakh crore over two phases.
Employment: Expected to create over 100,000 direct and indirect jobs.
