A “James Matula Memorial Scholarship” has been created with the help and guidance of James’ amazing family and Middlesex High School.

High school Seniors can find details about applying for the scholarship on the MHS Counseling page (link below) on or before 4/1/26. All submissions will be due by 4/30/26. Only Seniors are eligible. The selected student(s) will be announced at the Senior Awards Ceremony.

Details for applying should be in the linked MHS Counseling Page by Monday 3/30/26 (but no later than 4/1/26). It will require a short Essay. The topics for the Essay have been drafted, and are being finalized this weekend. All submissions will be made anonymous by MHS Counseling, such that the Reviewers will not know the names of the student applicants.

Fundraising for the Scholarship fund will include bracelet sales (flyer posted here), voluntary donations, dine-to-donate to be scheduled in April or May, and a wiffle ball event on an upcoming Sunday.
