On February 17th, the Wellesley College Instagram account announced that the Pin of the Month would feature the college’s “unofficial mascot”: the Wellesley Geese. What if the geese really did become our mascot? Wellesley News writer Khanh Vu hit the streets (snow covered sidewalks) to hear student opinions on the hotly debated campus creature.

Blue as the mascot is on brand - as an athlete I wasn’t feeling it at first - but - it grew on me because it’s rebellious and trailblazing - that defiance is on brand for Wellesley!!! GO BLUE!!!

I’ve always thought the swans would be a good mascot. Also always here, beautiful, a little threatening, and they don’t poop all over campus. 🦢
