Hey there! It’s been awhile. I’m still here. The past few months was a little busy. It’s been a physical and mental challenge for me. I tend to not express my feelings. Maybe that’s why I love creating things, it’s a way to express myself. I wanted to come out here and share what’s going on lately and bring awareness. Late last fall I had a mammogram that lead to another mammogram, biopsy, lumpectomy surgery, radiation therapy, and now more preventive care. This went on from last October through April. Luckily they removed the tumor.
I still remember that phone call from my doctor telling me the biopsy confirmed it was cancer. She was kind and asked me how I was feeling. I didn’t tell her how I felt and asked her what happens next. The following days it was like a broken record in my mind that I couldn’t accept. The hardest part out of everything was telling my husband, family, and close friends. They were all supportive especially Will (my doggy). Even my IG friends reached out to me to see how I was doing. All the prayers and get better soon I appreciate all of them. I dislike the attention and people worrying about me. I’m aware I’m hardheaded, people have reminded me many times. If I haven’t responded to your messages it’s just because life feels heavy at the moment.
I’m not on social media that much because I had the mindset of ā€œgo, go, go! Let’s take care of thisā€. I was compartmentalizing through out the whole time. Then when the smoke cleared I was able to step back and realized what happened the past 6 months. It feels like I’m frozen in time anticipating if or when it comes back. Contemplating what’s the new normal now. I hope that spark of creating art comes back to me soon.
This is the most I ever shared about myself in public. I hope this brought some cancer awareness to you all. šŸ’•
