Today marks 13 years since my mom’s death, and today I remembered that my brother’s old band Parachute Musical wrote a song for my mom many years before her passing. The song is an homage to the loving caring supportive incredibleness that was my mother and her home. She was such a cancer sun 🥰🌞🏡 Brother Ben played and toured with Parachute Musical (founded in Maryland, but later based in Nashville) for many many years, and the band would always come stay at our house while on tour. My mother of course had me help her clean the place top to bottom and prepare beds, towels, linens, musical instruments, CDs and records she wanted them to hear, books and articles she wanted to talk about, and food for the band to come crash. And, of course, she was at every show they played in the DMV and sang at the top of her lungs to every song. Our mom was easily their biggest fan. These are some of my happiest memories with my mom and my family is when brother Ben’s super excellent exciting fantastic band Parachute Musical would visit on tour and our family would rally around the band and the house on Sunnyside was a’buzz with happiness. Side note, thank you to Parachute Musical for also taking me on tour several times🤓 I love you and mom forever and ever 🥰🥰🥰 if you’d like to hear the original song by Parachute Musical, it’s on their bandcamp! DM me and I’ll send you the link 🫶🏻🌈🕯️
