Did you know, that the northern lights are frequently described as celestial celebration?

Well, this one might be some different kind of celestial celebration but shines just as bright as the aurora borealis itself!

Together with @iwcwatches we are more than proud to finally present the series version of the IWC Ceralume® prototype, which we presented you back in 2024!

This IWC Pilot with the reference number IW505801 was developed in collaboration with IWC’s research department XPL, and it’s not just impressive in daylight. Especially when night falls, the marvellous calendar gleams in a bright and breathtaking blue. Its Ceralume® ceramic case, a dial that’s just like the hands and Indices is made of Lumicast®, a Swiss Super-LumiNova® pigment infused rubber strap, and an equally glowing detail on the self-winding movement’s rotor, are making this watch the literal highlight of @watchesandwonders 2026.

As well as being visually stunning, this technical breakthrough represents a milestone in watchmaking, and we are honored to collaborate with IWC on this project.

So, is the glowing ‘eternal’? Or will there be degradation over time? And if yes, when will it kick in?
