شاهزاده رضا پهلوی در بروکسل با کریستوف گومار، نایب‌رئیس کمیسیون امنیت و دفاع پارلمان اروپا، عضو فراکسیون حزب مردم اروپا دیدار و گفت‌وگو کرد. کریستوف گومار با تأکید بر شناخت و احترام خود به تمدن ریشه‌دار ایران، حمایت قاطعش را از مردم ایران و مبارزه آنان علیه جمهوری اسلامی اعلام کرد. در این دیدار، راه‌های عملی حمایت از مردم ایران، از جمله کمک به حفظ دسترسی آنان به اینترنت آزاد، بررسی شد. آقای گومار همچنین بر اراده خود برای ادامه همکاری با شاهزاده رضا پهلوی و پیشبرد خواسته‌های مردم ایران در سطح اتحادیه اروپا تأکید کرد.
The U.S. Justice Department announced Tuesday that it is deploying about 1,000 election monitors and observers nationwide, including to eight Michigan cities. Michigan officials have raised concerns about monitors’ conduct today in Dearborn and Flint. Detroit, Dearborn, Hamtramck, Warren, Flint, Grand Rapids, Lansing and East Lansing are included. The DOJ says the Trump administration’s deployment is its largest ever and the first to cover all 50 states. Michigan officials contacted the DOJ after receiving reports that monitors went beyond their duties. In Dearborn, monitors reportedly asked poll workers for copies of their training materials. In Flint, they reportedly questioned workers about how they were trained. State officials said they were following up to explain what monitors are allowed to do. DOJ monitors generally must stay at least 100 feet from a polling place’s entrance unless the local clerk allows them inside. Once inside, they can observe but cannot speak with voters, touch ballots or voting equipment, or interfere with voting.
