August, 2025 - the “1,000-year flood”. We were at the state fair shooting some videos for work when the storm started. With a bunch of camera equipment, we had no choice but to wait it out. As we waited, fairgoers frantically ran back to their cars, covering up with whatever was handy: garbage cans, recently acquired stuffed animals, boxes, you name it. It ended up being the highest recorded rainfall in Wisconsin history (in a 24-hour period). All we were hoping for was to get a shot of the damn Ferris wheel lit up! That did not happen.
