If you asked us how to improve your socials, this is the weekly structure our Head of Social Media (Dawn) would give you to post consistently and with purpose 👇
Mon: Data check! 😱
What do the cold hard stats say? (My least favourite, but it’s SO important).
Not just views, I’m looking at saves, shares, watch time and what content drove action (clicks, saves, shares, comments etc). This is how you stop guessing, stop relying on what you like and dislike and start making informed decisions.
Tues: Content planning ✔️
Planning ahead means better content, it really does! Giving yourself the time to brainstorm, reflect and plan means you can start working towards a strategy that fits into your wider marketing work. We need to think about strong hooks, clear messaging, eye catching creative and content that aligns with your brand (not just posting for the sake of it).
Weds: Community > content ✉️
Replying to comments, DMs, engaging with your audience, this is where brands are built. Social media isn’t a broadcast channel, it’s a conversation... it’s social!
Thurs: Trend spotting 👀
Audios, formats, competitor activity, what’s rising, what’s oversaturated, and what’s actually worth jumping on (not every trend is worth the time). Don’t forget to have fun with it, if you and your team are enjoying a trend your audience probably are too.
Fri: Review + reset 🧘
What worked? What didn’t? What are we doing next week? You will eventually need a longer term strategy, but refining your strategy weekly is what keeps you relevant.
Social media is a full-time job!
