A groom in China had to beat his bride in a game of Valorant before he could take her to their wedding ceremony, as part of a Chinese wedding tradition where the groom and his friends complete tasks prepared by the bride and her bridesmaids. The couple, who reportedly enjoy playing the tactical shooter together, opted for Valorant instead of traditional wedding games, and the groom emerged victorious to earn the right to collect his bride. It's not the first time a couple has brought gaming into their wedding—in 2023, a Chinese couple turned their wedding into a League of Legends competition, and in February 2026, another gaming couple went viral after inviting Sony, which responded with free games and a congratulatory card.

Instagram isn’t letting me DM everyone. Find the full Spotify playlist in my “After Pesamale” Highlight. 🎧

I’ve always had a soft spot for songs where a little classical music sneaks into pop. @siri.xanderr 's “Pesamale” made me want to share six more from my playlist.

Each one has a sound of its own, but they all carry a little of that carnatic soul I absolutely love! ❤️
