🌬️🫧이번 한국에서의 시간은 전주국제영화제 작업이 주인공 이었던 것 같습니다. 평소처럼 본가에 가면 놀고 먹는 시간...을 조금 반납한 대신, 혼자서는 닿지 못했을 시각과 새로운 표현의 작업 방식을 배울 수 있어 감사한 시간이었습니다.
멋진 방향으로 리드해 주신 김영나 디자이너님, 세심한 도움 주신 김태헌 아트디렉터님, 그리고 전주국제영화제 팀원분들 모두 감사드립니다. @jeonju_iff 전주국제영화제는 오는 29일부터 5월 8일까지 열립니다!

제27회 전주국제영화제 아이덴티티 디자인:

제27회 전주국제영화제는 그간 지속되어 온 J 캠페인의 변화를 시도한다. 날 선 그래픽 속에 응축된 상징의 틀을 깨부수고, 새로운 시각적 질서를 발견한다. 손의 감각에 기반한 작업을 중심으로 인쇄물과 종이, 오브제 등을 활용하고, 스톱모션 영상을 제작하고 각각의 장면들은 영화제에서 추출한 이미지를 활용한다. 이를 통해 전주국제영화제를 상징하는 ‘J’는 다양한 이야기를 담는 그릇으로 재해석된다. 손으로 만든 파편들이 모여 영화제의 다채롭고 격조 높은 예술적 정체성을 만들어낸다.
예술의 미래를 묻는 질문 앞에서, 영화제는 도리어 고도화된 AI의 물결을 거슬러 ‘온기’를 복원하려 한다. 기계 연산이 흉내 낼 수 없는 투박한 손길의 미덕, 오직 인간의 온기로 빚어낸 영화적 영혼에 다시금 주목하고자 한다.

Identity Design for the 27th JEONJU International Film Festival:

The 27th JEONJU IFF attempts a change in the ongoing J-campaign. It shatters the rigid framework of symbols condensed within sharp graphics to discover a new visual order. Centering on work based on the sense of the hand, it utilizes printed materials, paper, and objects to create a stop-motion video, where each scene uses images extracted from the festival. Through this, the letter “J,” which symbolizes JEONJU IFF, is reinterpreted as a vessel containing diverse stories. Hand-crafted fragments coalesce to shape a multifaceted and distinguished artistic identity for the festival.
Faced with the question of the future of art, the festival chooses to swim against the wave of sophisticated AI to restore “warmth.” It aims to highlight the virtue of a rough touch that machine calculation cannot replicate, focusing once again on the cinematic soul crafted solely through human warmth.
