These red-pinks in my painting help the colors stay vivid especially in translucent areas where the light might be shining through.

Because paint tends towards gray when you mix colors together, adding extra saturation & hues in the transitional values can help create a more natural and glowing feeling of light in the painting.

With the basic forms in place, I let this pass of the hair dry and I’ll be refining it further in another pass or two.
