A young man in China, frustrated by constant noise from upstairs neighbors, has gone viral after showcasing a clever yet controversial DIY solution. In the video, he demonstrates a homemade device featuring a motorized mechanism connected to a wire and plastic ball that repeatedly strikes the ceiling, effectively sending the disturbance right back upstairs.

The device operates through a simple switch-controlled system that moves up and down, creating continuous thumping sounds. Similar gadgets, widely known in China as “Zhenlouqi” or “floor shakers,” have become increasingly popular as so-called “revenge tools” used by residents to counter noisy neighbors by generating persistent vibrations or noise through ceilings and walls.

The clip quickly gained traction online, with many users surprised to discover such devices exist, while others debated whether it’s a clever fix or a risky way to escalate tensions, with one user joking that the man had essentially “upgraded from complaining to full surround sound revenge mode,” capturing the internet’s mix of amusement and disbelief.
