There’s a persistent observation among anime fans that the final flight in Spirited Away, where Haku soars with Chihiro, bears a striking visual resemblance to the opening scene of the late-80s OVA Twilight Q.
The Twilight Q intro is defined by a quiet, surreal, and dreamlike quality that sets the tone instantly. You can see that same DNA in Miyazaki’s direction during the finale of Spirited Away, where the focus shifts away from traditional action to prioritize fluid movement and emotional atmosphere. It’s almost certainly not an official nod, but the way the scenes are framed and paced feels uncanny.

This was indeed the animators paying tribute and honor to that OAV, they talked about that in the behind the scenes doc that followed the making of the movie lol it's literally mentioned.. so there's absolutely no debate about it lol
